First Farmer’s Market on Saturday

The first Farmer’s Market of 2024 will be held this Saturday in the parking lot of Pilgrim Church.

Southeast Oak Park’s own Lyman Avenue Bread is returning to the market for the third year. Tim Giuffi is baking up a storm for Saturday, and is planning to have for sale:
Country Sourdough
Toasted Corn
Deli Rye
Wheat Sandwich Bread
Seedy Fougasse
Za’atar Flatbread
English Muffins
Rhubarb Pop Tarts

Tim is not the only SEOPer vending at the market. Chanticlare Farm is an urban farm in the Chicago suburb of Winfield, Illinois, but the owners live on East Avenue in SEOP. They grow over thirty different types of vegetables and annual fruits, in addition to various microgreens, herbs, and cut flowers. The farm has quickly established a reputation of quality, especially  known for its eight varieties of culinary garlic, legendary heirloom “Brandywine” and “Sun Gold” tomatoes, and the freshest salad mix and lettuces.

Don’t forget the donuts and Farmer’s Market band!
